Dawn McVey *Day 2*

Here's our next fun card by Dawn:
I love Dawn's layered, butterflies. And again Dawn has chosen such a charming, unexpected color scheme for her creation! The modern, circle background looks great with the texture of the felt. Finally, Dawn has finished off this creation with a unique sentiment banner. I just can't help but smile when I look at her card!
Here is my take. I layered the butterflies from one of my favorite sets from Purple Onion Designs, the Vintage Butterfly set:

Inspired by...Dawn McVey!

Hi everyone! I am soooooooooo excited to annouced that this week's featured artist is none other than the talented Dawn McVey! Dawn not only makes theeee most fun, bright, and modern cards but she also has her own line of stamps for Papertrey Ink. I really am SUPER honored to share some of her work here this week. Sooo, on to the cards. Here is our first inspiration card by Dawn: I love the way Dawn has used vintage book paper on her card. Her stamping on top of the paper is so fun! The ticket frame is the perfect shape for her sentiment and seriously, how cute are those buttons??!! Finally, this card is a charming example of Dawn's unique color combos. I would never have thought to add the aqua color of the buttons, but it works so well!
Here's my take:
Thanks so much for visiting, my friends! See you tomorrow with another spectacular card by Dawn! HUGS!

Yes, I may be the last person to jump onto this bandwagon, so I hope you like it. The card and video are for the project of the week at my local scrapbook store, Mementos (supply list available at Mementos' web site). The stamp/style isn't my usual, but I had fun stretching my boundaries a bit. Here's the card:
Here's the video. I hope you enjoy!! :) Click on the bottom right-hand corner of the video to watch at youtube and to see the entire screen of the video (it seems to be cutting off part of the filming when you watch here on the blog.)

Inspired by...Kelly Rasmussen

Hello, my stamping friends! Did you all have a nice weekend? I had a great one! :) I got to teach one of my new classes with some fun ladies at my local scrapbook store, Mementos, AND I also got to take a class from my creative friend, Peggy. :)

And now that it's Monday, it is my pleasure to announce that this week's featured artist is the over-the-top talented Kelly Rasmussen! I was first introduced to Kelly's work through the Hero Arts blog and I've been in love with her modern and clean designs ever since! Kelly's work is truly amazing and I know you'll want to spend hours checking out her BLOG and PHOTOSTREAM! Here is our first inspiration card by Kelly: So striking! First of all, I love the boldness of the pink and green against the dark black background. The touches of white, like the border around the green panel, the sentiment, and the ribbon really pull this design together. I also LOVE the way Kelly has layered the stamping of her floral images- just beautiful!!
Here is my take: Thanks for visiting! See you tomorrow with another beyond gorgeous card by Kelly!

Sarah Martina *Day 5*

I'm so sad to see our week with Sarah coming to an end, but I saved one of my MOST favorite cards of hers to share today:Ummm, yeah. After looking at that card I know your jaw is hanging on the floor and your socks are knocked off across the room! WOW. WOW. WOW. (Did I mention "wow??") This is such a monochromatic beauty! I love the shades of green and that lace stamp by Hero Arts never looked better. And again, Sarah knows just how to add the perfect embellishments with her ribbon and pearls.
Here is my take. I was especially inspired by Sarah's use of the color green, so I decided to make a green version of my ornament card (seen HERE).

A BIG thanks for Sarah for all of the inspiration she provides to the cardmaking community--thank you for allowing me to share a tiny snippet of your fantastic work on my blog this week!! Thanks also for everyone who has stopped by and for all of your lovely comments! HUGS and see you tomorrow with another Purple Onion Designs card. :)

Sarah Martina *Day 2*

Here's our next card by Sarah:
Three words--- GORGEOUS. SHABBY. CHIC. Yep, I think it's official, Sarah is the Queen of charming shabby chic cards. I love the texture of the white background paired with the soft purple and yellow of the flower and ribbon. The tag with script is a fun layer on this card, too. And don't forget that little button- pure perfection.

I must admit, shabby chic is a style I love, but I have trouble replicating. This is definitely not one of my favorite cards, but I decided to post it anyways. Here is my take (quite humble compared to Sarah's!!): Thanks again for popping by! See you tomorrow! HUGS!

Brit *Day 3*

If you haven't had your colored pencils out in a while THIS video and card by Brit may just inspire you to get them out: Brit's shading is spectacular. And the bright colors really do pop against the kraft background. I love how she has embellished her image, too. She added the perfect amount of bling! Finally, the way Brit included the sentiment as part of the main circle is genius!!
